Agnes Eleanor (Daniels) Horrigan
January 15, 1931 – April 19, 2017
Agnes Horrigan of Burtonsville, MD passed away on April 19, 2017. She was proceeded in death by her husband Thomas J. Horrigan, Sr. Mother of Thomas J. Horrigan, Jr. (Nancy), Katherine Hinken (Mark) and Patricia Stump (Sam). Grandmother to Tiffany Horrigan, Tara Bewley (John), Amanda Casasola (Stuart), Katelyn Warren (Matthew), Mark Hinken and Thomas Hinken, and four great grandchildren. Survived by sister, Rita Palmer. Proceeded in death by her parents, Bernard and Mary Daniels, brothers Joseph, Buck, John and sisters, Mary Jane Harrison, Ann King, Margaret Deane, Frances Vitiello and Catherine Woods.
Agnes was born in the District of Columbia on January 15, 1931. She attended St. Gabriel’s Grade School and Notre Dame High School. After high school Agnes went to work for the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department where she met, her husband, Thomas on October 18, 1952. After marriage Thomas and Agnes made their home in Wheaton, MD for over 50 years. While raising her family, Agnes volunteered at St. Catherine Laboure School and Church, St. John’s College High School and the Academy of Holy Cross High School. She oversaw the operation of Claridge Caterers for St. Catherine Laboure Parish in Wheaton, Md. For 20 years.
Relative and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, Silver Spring, Md, (Valet Parking), Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew Apostle Church, 11602 Kemp Mill Rd, Silver Spring, MD on Friday April 28, 2017 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dollard Suter Family Fund 9100 Presidential Parkway, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 or Burtonsville VFD, PO Box 215, Burtonsville, MD 20866.
